Whenever I write, I break the rules of punctuation.
Does it really matter? Perhaps not, but when I do it deliberately and know what rule I’m breaking (and why) then I think my writing is better.
Plus, learning a bit about punctuation and grammar has probably helped me get a couple of jobs during my career.
Thank for the nice feedback!
My thanks go out to so many people who’ve sent me nice comments about this little blog. Who would guess that thousands of people are interested in en dashes and em dashes?
Readers’ comments have forced me to improve the posts and add a lot more detail. The result? Suddenly Google seems to like my blog too.
In fact, most of my family members don’t use much punctuation at all.
And they are rarely on time.
Really I’m Ken Thomas. I work in online marketing, management and (sometimes) fundraising. I think writing is often more fun than reading (especially when a lot of reading is required to get my writing done).
Thanks again for all the kind feedback and for sharing this blog.
Cheers!
